APPEAL COURT RE-INSTATES THE =N=5BILLION FRAUD CHARGE AGAINST DR ERASTUS AKINGBOLA

The 5 billion naira fraud charge earlier struck out by a Federal Court in Lagos against the former Managing Director of the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc,  Dr. Erastus Akingbola has been re-instated by the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal ordered the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Mohammed Auta to re-assign the case to another judge for a re-trial on merit  and for accelerated hearing.
It will be recalled that Justice Charles Archibong had struck out the case brought previously by EFCC against Akingbola for want of diligent prosecution.
Justice Charles Archibong while striking out the case then described the prosecuting  team as drain in public purse.
We will keep you updated on this.
