SOLUDO SAYS NIGERIA'S PRESIDENT MISSED THE POINT ON MISSING 30 TRILLION NAIRA

Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo says the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan missed the point when he said it was impossible for =N=30 trillion to be stolen when the Federal budget in the last four years has been less than  30 trillion naira and that Soludo's statement was all political.
Mr. Soludo described the President as a friend and gentleman but he is in disagreement of the management of Nigeria's economy.
Soludo said with the President's busy schedule he might not have read his article and that his staff might not have explained the contents properly hence the President missed the points in his comments.
Soludo said the monies he described as missing like oil theft, money that ought to accrue to stock of foreign exchange reserve, unbudgeted subsidy payments, custom duty waivers , leakages through the self financing government parastatals and unremitted sums by NNPC are OFF BUDGET.
He said he was perplexed that the government deliberately avoided the issues raised but instead decided to divert attention by focusing on federal budget.
Soludo said he believes the amount of resources stolen from the economy or outrightly mismanaged by government exceeds the federal budget per annum.
Nigeria's economy is about a 100 trillion naira economy and Soludo says he will be shocked if government pretends it does not know that currently about 10 percent of the GDP falls into a "black hole" on an annual basis.
He also said he was particularly disappointed that the president was more interested in World Bank's approval and validation than what Nigerians think.
Soludo says he stands firmly by his  weighty statements which he weighed carefully before issuing.
