UK based influential magazine "The Economist" endorsed the candidacy of General Buhari in the upcoming presidential elections by saying that General Mohammadu Buhari of the APC party is more competent than President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP, a statement that has irked the president.
Through the Special Adviser to the president on Media and publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, the president said that he is not surprised at the magazines 'tongue in cheek" endorsement of General Buhari ahead of the presidential elections.
The Economist says that Jonathan has proved to be an utter failure especially with his unwillingness to fight corruption and has allowed most of the north to go up in flames. The magazine says though there is really no good option, a former dictator is better than a failed president.
Dr Reuben Abati, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity described as baseless, malicious and unfounded the magazine's view of the president.
