US, TINUBU DISAPPOINTED IN POSTPONEMENT OF NIGERIA'S GENERAL ELECTIONS

The US Secretary of State , John Kerry has said in a statement on sunday ,February 8, that Washington is deeply disappointed by the polls shift.
He says political interference with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is unacceptable . He continues by saying that it is critical that government not use security concerns as pretext for impeding democratic process.
Tinubu on the other hand says poll shift is democracy at gun point and accused the chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega of caving to pressure and blackmail.
It will be recalled that the Chairman of INEC announced yesterday of the postponement of the presidential and legislative elections to 28th march and 11th April 2015 respectively
