EMIR OF KANO SAYS THE ISSUES SURROUNDING MISSING $20BILLION NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the current Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, while speaking to Christiane Amanpour on the Cable News Network on Wednesday said issues surrounding the missing $20 billion have not been fully addressed by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Sanusi Lamido raised an alarm on the missing $20 billion last year when he was still the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria stating that after reconciliation there was a gap of $20billion between what NNPC exported and what was paid into the Federation account.
During the interview with Christiane Amanpour, Sanusi said that the up till now no one has accounted for the billions of dollars paid in Kerosene subsidy that were never approved by the National Assembly.
The level of corruption in the oil sector is still very high,  Sanusi said.
The economy of Nigeria is in crisis due to the mismanagement of oil funds  and now Nigerians are  paying for it according to Sanusi.
Sanusi praised the military for recent successes in their fight against Boko Haram but  said the menace by the terrorist would have been curtailed if the anti-terror was started long ago.
