GERMANWINGS CRASH: AIRLINE TO PAY $54,450 TO FAMILIES PER VICTIM



A spokesman for Germanwings Airline has said that families of those who died when co-pilot Andrea Lupitz crashed the plane into the French Alps will receive an initial payment of $54,450 per victim from their parent company, Lufthansa.

The families of the victims will receive emotional support first and foremost and then an initial financial compensation of 50,000 Euros , spokeman Boris Ogursky told NBC News.

The Airline is covering both transportation and living accommodations of families flying from around the world into France.

18 countries were affected by the crash.
