NAMIBIAN PRESIDENT GETS $5MILLION MO IBRAHIM AWARD

Namibia's outgoing President, Hifikepunye Pohamba has won Mo Ibrahim Award for African leadership which goes with a $5 million prize.
The Mo Ibrahim Award  is the brain child of Mo Ibrahim, a British- Sudanese who made billions investing in Africa.
Mo Ibrahim started the award in  2007 and it is given to African leaders who are thought to have governed well, uplifted the standard of living of their country men and women and left office peacefully.
The prize money of $5million dollars is spread over10 years and is followed by $200,000 annually for life for the deserving awardee.
President Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia  was a former rebel who fought for independence of his country. He has served two terms as Namibia's President and is soon to be succeeded by President -Elect, Hage Geingob.
