US AMBASSADOR NEEDED 80 STITCHES AFTER KNIFE ATTACK IN SOUTH KOREA


The US Ambassador to South Korea, Mark Lippert was attacked on Thursday morning by a militant Korean nationalist during a breakfast meeting at a performing arts centre in Seoul.
The assailant used a small fruit knife to slash his face and reportedly shouted that the South and North Korea should be unified.
Mark Lippert had to defend himself against tha assailant before security  forces subdued him.
The Ambassador, Mark Lippert has undergone 80 stitiches to his face after two and half hour of surgery. He is in a stable condition and the operation was successful.
President Obama has called Mark Lippert to wish him well.
