ZAMBIA PAYS $432,000 OWED EX-NATIONAL FOOTBALL COACH TO PREVENT POTENTIAL BAN BY FIFA


Former National football coach, Dario Bonetti who was in charge of Chipolopolo, Zambian national team from July 2010 to October 2011 has been paid by the Zambian government the sum of $432,000 owed him.

Dario lodged a complaint with FIFA against the Zambian Football Association. A hearing had been set for August.

In order not to be banned like Zimbabwe which was expelled from 2018 World Cup qualifier for failing to pay Coach Jose Claudinei Georgini; the Zambian Football Association had to quickly pay up through the intervention of the country's treasury.

Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) General Secretary, George Kasengele told BBC Sport that the Football Association was happy the  Bonetti case is over.
