ABIA AND IMO STATE RUN-OFF ELECTIONS TO HOLD ON APRIL 25TH


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed April 25th, 2015 for the re-run of the governorship and state assembly elections in Abia and Imo State.
INEC had declared the elections in the two states inconclusive as a result of irregularities observed during the election which led to cancellation of votes. The cancelled votes were higher than the margin of winning.
In Abia State, the INEC spokesman, Edwin Enabor said elections will be conducted in some polling stations across nine local government areas with a combined registered voters of 179,224.
In Imo State,  the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Gabriel Adah while addressing journalists in Owerri
on Wednesday said elections will be conducted in 250 polling booths across the 23 local government areas of the state.
