ABOUT 400 MIGRANTS FEARED DROWNED OFF LIBYA


Survivors have told SAVE THE CHILDREN, an aid organisation that about 400 migrants may have drowned after their boat capsized off Libya in the mediterranean.
Italian coast guard rescued 144 people on Monday and have launched both air and sea search operations with the hope of finding other survivors.
Italy authorities said about 8,500 immigrants have been rescued at sea between Friday and Monday. Italy's Interior Minister has instructed officials throughout the country to prepare to house  new arrivals many of whom are children.
