CAPTAIN OF SUNK MIGRANT'S BOAT CHARGED WITH RECKLESS MULTIPLE HOMICIDE


Italian officials have said that the captain of the boat that capsized off Libya killing over 700 migrants has been charged with multiple reckless homicide.
Also charged is a Syrian member of the crew. The two who are among 27 survivors are charged for favouring illegal immigration.
A United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Spokeswoman told BBC the boat capsized after a merchant vessel came close to it.
There were nationals of Syria, Eritrea, Somali, Mali, Sierra Leone and Senegal on board the boat.
