EBOLA: JOHN HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BUILDS UNIT FOR EBOLA PATIENTS

A hospital official of John Hopkins  University has said  that amidst panic over the possible spread of Ebola in United States of America, the university began work on a unit designed to care for patients with Ebola and other infectious diseases.

Hopkins now joins a few US institutions like Emory Hospital, Nebraska medical centre with such facilities as it is almost completed.

The unit has three patient rooms, each room with a room on either side for wearing and removing protective equipment, a lab for testing patients specimen and a waste management system that can treat protective linens equipment and bodily fluids
on-site.

The unit is equipped to perform x-rays and ultrasound without moving patients about and is located in Hopkins' East  Baltimore Hospital Complex.
