The Independendent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) scheduled re-run of elections for governorship and House of Assembly elections in Abia, Imo and Taraba States to today, Saturday, 25th April, 2015. Voting is currently going on in selected polling stations in the 3 states.
The governorship elections in Abia, Taraba and Imo States held on 11th of April were declared inconclusive by INEC because the number of cancelled votes was more than the margin with which the winner beat his closest rival.
In Imo and Taraba States, the battle for governorship position is between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates while in Abia state, the race is between the PDP and APGA candidates.
