PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN SACKS NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Dr. Femi Thomas with immediate effect.
In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, Dr. Femi Thomas has been replaced with Mr. Olufemi A. Akingbade as Acting Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of NHIS.
No reason was given for his sack.
Part of the statement reads,
"Akingbade, who hails from Ekiti State and holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science as well as Masters in Business Administration, was the General Manager, ICT in the NHIS until his new appointment"
President Goodluck Jonathan's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity also announced the  confirmation of Mr. Mounir Haliru Gwarzo as Director- General of the Securities and Exchange Commission and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as Chairman of the board of Securities and Exchange Commission.
"President Jonathan has also approved the confirmation of Mr. Mounir Haliru Gwarzo as Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
"Mr.Gwarzo who has been acting as Director-General of the Commission, was appointed to the Board of the securities and Exchange Commission as Executive Commissioner in January, 2013"
"The President has also approved the appointment of the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
