SUSPECTED HACKER ARRESTED FOR STEALING =N=68 BILLION FROM A BANK


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a suspected hacker, Stephen Omaidu for allegedly hacking into the database of a bank and stealing 68 billion naira.
Stephen Omaidu is alleged to have worked with four other suspects, Alhaji K. B. Kabiru, Godswill Oyegwa, Ben and Oliver to transfer the stolen funds to different accounts.
According to the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, the four other suspects are at large meanwhile the EFCC has arraigned Stephen Omaidu before Justice M.A. Nasir of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Abuja on two counts bordering on theft to the tune of 68 billion naira.
EFCC says the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Penal Code.
Stephen Omaidu has pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
Justice Nasir ordered the accused to be remanded in the custody of the EFCC and adjourned the case till April 28, 2015.
