Lagos State Government through the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris has disclosed that of the 801 commercial drivers screened for hard drugs through urinary test, 442 representing 55 percent tested positive.
Dr. Jide made this disclosure at a press briefing at Alausa, Ikeja on the activities of his ministry in the last one year.
Dr. Jide said together with his transportation counterpart, they were engaged in securing the health and safety of commercial drivers and conductors in order to reduce prevalent road accidents and ensure safety of residents. He said the screening was carried out in specific motorparks in the state in December last year.
