BOLLYWOOD STAR SALMAN KHAN JAILED FIVE YEARS IN HIT AND RUN DRIVING INCIDENT IN MUMBAI

One of Bollywood's biggest stars, Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years in jail by an Indian court following the killing of a homeless man in 2002 in a hit and run driving incident in Mumbai.
The actor was charged with culpable homicide. Khan had said his driver was behind the wheels but the judge said the actor was the one driving under the influence of alcohol at the time despite the driver's testimony that he crashed the car when the tyre burst.
The homeless man was one of the 5 people who were run over in the accident.
Legal experts expect Salman to appeal the verdict.
