EBOLA: ITALIAN NURSE TESTS POSITIVE TO THE EBOLA VIRUS, HOSPITALIZED


The Italian Air Force on Wednesday said that a nurse, 27,  who tested positive to the Ebola virus after returning from Sierra Leone has been transfered to Spallanzani hospital in Rome. The transfer was organised from Sardinia after the nurse tested positive to the Ebola virus on Tuesday.
The Italian Health Ministry in a statement said the nurse who had gone to work as a volunteer for the Emergency Medical Charity returned from Sierra Leone on May 8th to Italy.
The Italian Ministry also said it was the second Ebola case to be treated in Italy and would subsequently inform of the nurse's condition.
Dr. Fabrizio Pulvirenti from Sicily who had also served in Sierra Leone was the first Ebola case to be treated in Italy at the Spallanzani hospital in November and was declared cured after 39 days.
