Nigerian military on Thursday rescued a fresh set of 234 children and women from the Sambisa forest, the stronghold of Boko Haram. The women and children were rescued through the Kawuri and Konduga end of the forest.
A statement from the Defence headquarters said the women and children have been evacuated to join others at the screening centre.
"This set is in addition to the previous individuals earlier rescued during the ongoing operation in the area", it said
"The assault on the forest is continuing from various fronts and efforts are concentrated on rescuing hostages of civilians and destroying all terrorists camps and facilities in the forest" Defence Headquarters said.
