PHOTOS: TONY ELUMELU ADDRESSES GLOBAL INDUSTRIALISTS AT THE WHITE HOUSE


Tony Elumelu, a foremost Nigerian Economist and Chairman of Heirs Holdings was a guest of Barrack Obama on Monday, 11th May for the White House entrepreneurship celebration which is a prelude to Obama's scheduled trip to Kenya for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
The event brought together established and emerging entrepreneurs accross the world seeking the support and commitment of investors, governments, private foundations and individuals.
At the event, Obama  said the guests gathered were there because they believe in the power of entrepreneurship which breaks down barriers between cultures and faiths and is a strong force to lift people from poverty.
Addressing the global industrialists at the White House, Tony Elumelu said there were lots of opportunities in Africa but the governments have to create enabling environment that will make the private sector and entrepreneurs create jobs.
Entrepreneurship is a long term journey. Great entrepreneurs didnot make it overnight. Dare to dream and stay focused, Tony Elumelu said.
Other entrepreneurs who were at the event were Adrienne Palmer, Jonathan Ortmans, Chris Coons, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran and several others.
Tony Elumelu is one of the promoters of global entrepreneurs. He recently through The Tony Elumelu Foundation set aside $100miliion aimed at assisting in growing 10,000 start-up businesses in Africa.
