SUCIDE BOMBER ATTACKS COLLEGE OF ADMINISTRATIVE AND BUSINESS STUDIES IN YOBE STATE

A suicide bomber suspected to be a member of the Boko Haram sect on Friday morning stormed the College of Administrative and Business Studies, Potiskum in Yobe State with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and AK47 rifle.
According to the Information department of the Institution, the bomber is said to have stormed the school around 8.00am shooting sporadically at the gate before entering the school and continued shooting at students and teachers.
Efforts were made to subdue to bomber when it was noticed that his ammunition was running out but in order not to be caught alive, the bomber detonated his Improvised Explosive Device which killed him.
Six people are said to have been injured in the attack and have been taken to hospital.
"The bomber stormed the school around 8.00am this morning and commenced shooting at a popular arena where he injured several people and later triggered explosives he was carrying along killing just himself to avoid being caught.
"I strongly commend the people who stood resolute during the attack in an effort to catch him red handed after noticing his ammunition was running out of stock, but to avoid being cut, the bomber triggered the IED as he was killed instantly" 
The Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, Mr. Toyin Gbadegesin has confirmed the incident saying the situation has been brought under control.
Mr. Gbadegesin called on the public to be security conscious, vigilant and observant as the fight against insurgency continues and to report people with suspicious character for prompt action.
