UNITED STATES DECOMMISSIONS ITS EBOLA TREATMENT CENTRE FOR HEALTH WORKERS IN LIBERIA

The United States has on Thursday decommissioned its treatment unit for Liberian health workers infected with Ebola as the country is set to be declared free of the virus on May 9th, 42 days after the last known case was buried.
The clinic is 55km (35miles) outside Monrovia at the international airport. It treated 42 patients from nine nations of which 18 had Ebola.
Officers from the US Public Health Service commissioned Corps staged a parade at the Monrovia Medical Unit(MMU) as President Ellen Sirleaf urged Liberians to learn from the outbreak of Ebola in the country.
3 Ebola treatment units have been closed this week while 13 clinics are operational but empty according to World Health Organisation (WHO).
Scott Giberson, West Africa Commander for the corps, an elite uniformed public health service which operates across the world said,
"As we move closer each day to an ebola-free Liberia, I hope everyone here today feels responsible for the success of the MMU"
