EBOLA: PROMISING EBOLA DRUG FOUND TO BE INEFFECTIVE IN HUMANS

Experimental Ebola drug, TKM-Ebola manufactured by Tekmira has not worked in patients in Sierra Leone and as such its human trials has been stopped.

TKM-Ebola had shown 100 percent success rate treating primates infected with Ebola as such the drug was further backed by the US Food and Drug Administration last year to get into human clinical trials.
Scientists have  questioned the company's reasearch methods for the day since all the patients involved received the experimental drug and no one received a placebo and the study didnot have a control group.
Scientists have said such a set up would make it harder to know if the drug was effective.
The manufacturer, Tekmira says it will make data from trials available as soon as possible once analysis are finished.
