FIFA CRISIS: LOCAL MEDIA ALLEGE THAT SOUTH AFRICA PAID $10 MILLION TO FOOTBALL BODY

Local media says South Africa did pay $10 million to a football body led by Jack Warner one of the officials at the centre of FIFA corruption allegations. Danny Jordaan, Head of South Africa's Football Association is said to have reportedly confirmed that amount was deducted from FIFA payment to the country in 2008.

Reports say a subsequent letter requested the money be sent to Carribean Football Union.
South African officials say it was not a bribe, but United States officials insist the government of South Africa made an illegal payment of $10milliion to Mr. Warner, former FIFA Vice President to become the first African country to host the world cup.
