NIGERIA: FORMER AND PRESENT GOVERNORS OF AKWA IBOM STATE VISIT FORMER PRESIDENT OBASANJO

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and currently a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Godswill Akpabio, together with his successor, Emmanuel Udom on Friday met with former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo and had a closed door meeting.

Present Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom spoke to journalists shortly after the closed door meeting. He said they came to Abeokuta to pay homage to Obasanjo who aided his victory at the polls because of the advice he gave him.
"I have come to show gratitude and respect for someone whom I regard as a father and whose advice I regard as invaluable and which also contributed to my victory at the polls" Udom said.
