NIGERIA: HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE MEMBERS EXCHANGE BLOWS OVER PRINCIPAL OFFICERS ELECTION (PHOTOS)

A serious fight broke out on Thursday among members of the House of Representatives over election of principal officers with federal lawmakers exchanging blows.
Tension on divided interest and leadership crisis led to the fight amongst members. Confusion prevailed in the house with no one appearing to be in charge.
Loyalists to the speaker, Yakubu Dogara surrounded him, each with his own idea of what he should do.
There was rowdiness between those loyal to the Speaker and All Progressives Congress (APC) loyalists.
Thursday's plenary session was disrupted as attempts were made to take away the mace as members were divided.
An APC member of House of Represenatives, Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura representing Zango/Baure Federal Constituency of Katsina State laler held a press conference explaining what went down.
He explained that APC (the ruling party) sent a letter to the house on those to be nominated as principal officers which the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara who is also a member of the APC disregarded.
