At least 19 people mostly tourists are dead and the rest running for cover to save their lives in Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba, a 5-star beach front hotel in Tunisia.
Gunmen suspected to be Islamic militia stormed the hotel and started shooting people.
Foreign tourists who were sitting and relaxing on the El Mouradi Palm Marina near the hotel were the first targets who were killed before the gunmen stormed the nearby beach hotel and started shooting.
Police is currently engaging the terrorists in a fierce gun battle. One gunman has so far been killed. Many dead bodies are currently lying on the beach believed to be those of foreigners as the hotel is popular amongst European holiday makers.
It will be recalled that in March this year, a similar incident occurred where three terrorists stormed the Bardo National Museum in Tunis, capital of Tunisia and killed 21 people mostly foreigners. ISIS claimed responsibility for that attack.
We will be updating this post on new developments.
UPDATE:
At least 27 killed, six injured in attack on the beach hotel, Interior ministry tells state-run news agency.
Tunisia's health ministry tells state media that the death toll from the beach hotel attack has risen to 37.
