KENYA: SEVERAL QUARRY WORKERS KILLED IN AL-SHABAB GUN ATTACK

Several People were wounded on Tuesday and at least 14 killed in gun attack near  a military camp at the Kenyan border with Somalia.
It is believed that the victims were mainly workers from a local quarry in the Mandera County in the north east of Kenya.
Locals say they heard  two explosions followed by heavy gunfire.
Mandera County Commissioner, Alex Ole Nkoyo said people were sleeping when the gun men attacked . They came and hurled explosives in people's houses, he said.
Kenyan Red Cross sent an aircraft to the scene to fly the injured to hospitals in Nairobi .
Militia group Al-Shabab which operates out of Somalia confirmed to BBC it carried out the attack.
