NIGERIA: BUHARI SACKS ITA EKPENYONG AS DIRECTOR-GENERAL, DEPARTMENT OF STATE SECURITY SERVICE

President Buhari on Thursday sacked Mr Ita Ekpenyong as the Director-General of the Department of State Security Services and replaced him with Lawal Musa Daura.
The announcement was made in a terse statement issued by Director, Communications in the office of Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Haruna Imrana on behalf of the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Danladi Kifasi.
The new Director General, State Department of Security Services, Lawal Musa Daura was born in Daura, Katsina State on August 5, 1953.
He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1977-1980 and started his career in the State Security Sevice in 1982 and rose to the rank of Director.
Between 2003 and 2007 he served as the Deputy Director, Presidential Communication, Command and Control Centre at the Presidential villa, Abuja.
At various times he has served as State Director of Security Service in Kano, Lagos, Edo, Osun and Imo States.
