'FEMALE VIAGRA' FLIBANSERIN APPROVED BY FDA

A libido enhancing drug for women, Flibanserin has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
It has been described as 'female viagra'. It is produced by Sprout Pharmaceuticals and marketed by Addyi. Flibanserin was recently passed at an FDA advisory committtee meeting.
Flibanserin is designed to help women regain their sexual drive by boosting levels of brain chemicals.
Sprout Pharmaceuticals say the results have shown increase in a number of satisfying sexual events while experts say the results have been modest.
An FDA advisory meeting on June 4 in a vote of 18 to 6 says the drug should be approved.
It will be made available through certified health care professionals and pharmacists from October.
There are warnings of side effects for those with liver ailments and if taken with other medicines like steroids.
