EBOLA: UPDATE OF EBOLA CASES BETWEEN 7TH-14TH SEPTEMBER IN GUINEA AND SIERRA LEONE

SIERRALEONE:
September 8: Three cases were reported in Kambia district and all were contacts of the woman who died from Ebola at the end of August and are all from a quarantined home.
September 10: Another positive case was confirmed in Kambia district. A relative of the woman who died recently had developed symptons while quarantined at home in Sella Kafta community.

September 14: A 16 year old girl has died of Ebola in Bombali. The northern district of Bombali had not recorded any case in more than 160 days. It is not yet clear how the young girl got infected but is suspected to involve contact with an Ebola survivor.

GUINEA:
No new Ebola cases have been reported during the period, 7th September- 14th September. The last known case of Ebola was on August 29th.
