IMF BOSS, CHRISTINE LAGARDE ARRIVES NIGERIA

Christine Lagarde, the Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) arrived Nigeria on Monday, 4th January for a four day visit.
Lagarde's visit is part of a two-nation visit to Nigeria and Cameroon to meet with top officials and policy makers of the two countries to discuss economic developments affecting both countries and the West African sub-region.

IMF prior to Lagarde's visit had said the visit to Nigeria,
"will provide an opportunity to strengthen the Fund's partnership with the largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa".

Lagarde while in Abuja is expected to meet with President Mohammadu Buhari, The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele (pictured with Lagarde), members of the National Assembly and top business leaders as well as civil society.

Lagarde's  discussions with Buhari will likely focus on various economic issues especially impact of  declining crude oil prices on Nigeria's economy as well as the current Central Bank of Nigeria policy reviews.
