MYSTERY AS PASSENGERS AND CREW COLLAPSE ON AMERICA AIRLINES FLIGHT AA109

A Los Angeles bound America Airline flight AA109 was forced to return to London Heathrow when seven crew members and many passengers collapsed as a result of a mysterious illness.
There was fear of contamination in the air conditioning as passengers watched as the flight attendants collapsed in the aisles.

A passenger, Lee Gunn told the Mirror,

"About 2.5 hours into the flight just as we were passing Iceland we had a tannoy announcement asking for any doctors, nurses or medical professionals on board to report to the boarding doors to assist unwell passengers".

"The lights then came on in the cabin and there was lots of commotion".

"It was also reported that seven of the crew-13 on board in total I believe -had fallen ill, along with 'many passenger", he said.

The Pilot decided to return to Heathrow after seven flight attendants fell sick as he was not willing to take the risk of flying without enough strong crew members.

On arrival at Heathrow, the plane was surrounded by police cars, ambulances, fire crew. Passengers were not allowed to disembark.

The American Airline's Spokesperson said the flight turned back as a result of medical emergency not security-related.
