PROTESTS ERUPT IN ABIA STATE FOLLOWING THE DISMISSAL OF THE GOVERNOR BY THE COURT OF APPEAL

Protests erupted on Saturday in Aba following the sacking of the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu  by the Court of Appeal on Thursday.
The Court of Appeal declared Dr. Alex Otti of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the rightful winner of the April 11, 2015 gubernatorial election held in Abia State.

The current governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dr. Ikpeazu had earlier released a statement that they were studying the judgement for further appeal to the Supreme Court.
