KENYAN ATHLETE, ABRAHAM KIPTON WINS LAGOS MARATHON

Kenyan athelete, Abraham Kipton has won the Lagos City Marathon race which held today, 6th February, 2016.
Kipton beat over 20,000 athletes, both local and international runners to win the 42km marathon race with a time of 2hours 16 minutes.

The race began from the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Kipton wins the grand prize of $50,000 while Haleema Hussein from Ethiopia who came tops amongst the female runners also walked away  with $50,000.

Emmanuel Gyang and Mary Akor were the first Nigerian male and female runners to finish the race with Emmanuel coming 7th in the race.

Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos State Governor, Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung and several important dignitaries were at the finish line to witness the highly anticipated marathon.
