POPE FRANCIS MAKES A HISTORIC MEETING WITH RUSSIAN ORTHODOX PATRIARCH, KIRILL

Pope Francis, 79,  made a historic meeting with Russian Orthodox Patriarch, Kirill, 69, being the first meeting between Heads of Eastern and Western churches in nearly 1000 years.
Pope Francis and Kirill kissed each other on their first meeting at Havana airport.
Pope Francis wore white robes and a skullcap while Kirill wore a black robe and headdress.

Pope Francis said on meeting Kirill,
"At last we meet. We are brothers". "Clearly this meeting is God's will".

The Argentine Pontiff , Pope Francis is looking to heal a nearly 1,000-year-old rift in Christianity which dates as far back as to a 1054 schism which helped shape the Middle East and Modern Europe.
