SA COURT TO RULE ON THE $23M STATE FUNDS USED TO RENOVATE PRESIDENT ZUMA'S RURAL HOUSE

A South African top court is to rule on whether President Jacob Zuma is to pay back about $23million state funds used to renovate his Nklanda rural home.
A 2014 independent watchdog report says Mr. Zuma 'benefitted' unduly from the upgrades.

Some of the money was spent on amphitheatre, swimming pool and cattle enclosure.

The case has been brought by opposition despite Mr. Zuma agreeing to pay back some of the money and being cleared of any wrong doing by police.

Government says the upgrades were centred on increased security.
