ASTRONAUT SCOTT KELLY RETURNS TO EARTH AFTER NEARLY ONE YEAR IN SPACE

NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly landed in Kazakhstan on Tuesday from International Space Station and touched down Houston Texas at around 2.15am.
Scott Kelly and his twin brother, Mark Kelly will be examined by NASA doctors as Scott Kelly's long stay  of a record 340 days in space is part of a study to find out the effects of space travel on human body in preparation for a crewed mission  to Mars.

His twin brother, Mark stayed back on earth. NASA is specifically looking for the effect on mental health from long isolation in space as well as effect of space radiation.

One obvious fact already is that Scott came back from space 2 inches taller than his brother Mark who was on earth as a result of lack of gravity which causes spinal disks to expand.

On arriving Houston, Texas, Scott Kelly said,

"When I left here in February I was 50 and now I'm 52. It's great to be back in Texas on U.S. soil. It's an unbelievable feeling to be back here on Planet Earth, back in our great country and back with all my family and friends.

Scott Kelly's 340 consecutive days stay in space is the most by any American.
