KYLIE MINOGUE FILES A NOTICE OF OPPOSITION TO KYLIE JENNER'S FIRST NAME TRADEMARK

Australian Grammy Award winning  popstar, Kylie Minogue through her lawyers has filed an application of opposition to Kylie Jenner's attempt to trademark their first names, Kylie.
The Firm, KDB has filed a notice since last week describing Kylie Jenner as a "secondary reality television personality", and granting Jenner the first name trademark will dilute, Kylie Minogue's brand who burst into the music scene since 1987.

Kylie Minogue has also gone ahead to file for the trademark of the first name, Kylie, claiming she has been in the entertainment industry since 1979 and has had her website, www.kylie.com running since 1988. Not only that she has her logo, 'Kylie' on her fragrances, jewelleries, clothing and live performances.

Granting Kylie Jenner ,18, the first name trademark will "violate and diminish the prior and superior rights" of singer, Kylie Minogue.

Kylie Jenner filed for application to trademark her first name in May 2015 for
"entertainment in the nature of providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture".

Kylie Minogue took to social media to write that her name is also Kylie.

The question we ask is how come Kylie Minogue has not tried to trademark her first name since with all the products she has with that name until an 18 year old Kylie Jenner tried to do so.
