NIGERIA: FIVE STOREY BUILDING COLLAPSES IN LEKKI, DEATH TOLL RISES TO 30

A five-storey building under construction under the management of Lekki Gardens collapsed on Tuesday at about 4a.m.
The building was one of the residential projects in Lekki, Lagos State. The death toll is said to have risen from 18 on Tuesday to 30 on Wednesday while 13 people have been rescued alive.

The rescue operation is on-going meanwhile the contractor handling the project is said to have been arrested as investigations continue on the cause of the collapse of the building.

The company handling the construction of the building, Lekki Gardens has issued official statement on the collapse of the building.
