NIGERIA: OLISA METUH'S ATTEMPT TO STOP HIS TRIAL FAILS AS COURT RULES HE HAS A CASE TO ANSWER

The National Publicity Secretary for the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh's attempt to stop his trial for money laundry charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has failed as an Abuja Federal High Court today, Wednesday, 9th March ruled that he has a case to answer.
The presiding Judge, Justice Okon Abang ruled that EFCC has established a prima facie case of money laundering against him and its now for him to defend himself.

The Court scheduled March 17th for opening of defence.

Olisa Metuh is facing seven-count charge of money laundering to the tune of 400 million naira.

Olisa however maintains he is innocent of the charges and only received the sum of 400million naira from the office of the former National Security Adviser to carry out media campaigns for former President Goodluck Jonathan.
