ONDO STATE ASSEMBLY REVERSES ITS IMPEACHMENT OF FIRST FEMALE SPEAKER, JUMOKE AKINDELE

Barely two days after announcing that it had impeached its first female speaker, Mrs. Jumoke Akindele and her deputy, Mr Fatau Olotu, members of Ondo State House of Assembly have announced a reversal of their impeachment.
Mr. Olamide George, The Chairman, House Committee on Information while addressing journalists at the Governor's office in Akure said the ledership of the Assembly was still intact and the crisis has been resolved.

George said,
"Before the plenary today, members of the Assembly at a larger and official gathering, met to review the situation and consequently resolved to reverse the impeachment of the Speaker and her Deputy. The House of Assembly remains united and doing its constitutional responsibilities".

On Tuesday, 8th March,  18 out of 23 legislators in Ondo State House of Assembly signed the impeachment notice of Speaker, Jumoke Akindele and her Deputy and announced Mr Iroju Ogundeji and Mr Ayo Arowele as the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.
