When it was announced that the rally was no longer going to take place but postponed to a later date, the protesters inside the University of Illinois at Chicago pavillion broke out in cheers but his supporters began to chant, "We want Trump".
There were a few skirmishes after the event was cancelled.
Staff of University of Illinois had petitioned the university administrators to cancel the rally stating that it would create a 'hostile and physically dangerous environment' for students.
This is the first time since Donald Trump began his bid for the Republican Presidential ticket that the number of those supporting him and those who disapprove of his candidacy appeared to be equal in mix.
The plan of the protesters as they positioned themselves in groups at the arena was to completely shut down Donald Trump once he took the stage.
