SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA ELIMINATED FROM 2017 AFCON; DEFEATED BY PHAROAHS OF EGYPT

The senior football team of Nigeria, the Super Eagles have been eliminated from 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after losing to the Pharoahs of Egypt by a lone goal on Monday in Alexandria.
As at half time, the scores remained  0-0 but the Pharoahs of Egypt looked set to win the game as they rattled the Nigerian defence several times.

The pharoahs maintained the momentum in the second half and got their winning goal in the 65th with a shot from Ramadan Sobby who aimed at the Nigerian goal post and the ball rolled under goalkeeper, Akpeyi's arm who was thinking that his defence line would clear it.

Alex Iwobi's introduction into the match didnot produce the needed spark to match the Pharoahs in their homeland .

Nigeria has now been eliminated from the 2017 AFCON while Egypt sealed their qualification.
