GOVERNOR AMBODE RE-LAUNCHES LAGOS WEEKEND TELEVISION TO PROVIDE 50HRS NON-STOP TELECAST

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Friday, 1st April re-launched the Lagos Weekend Television (LWT) to telecast 50 hours non-stop.
While unveiling the new LWT, Ambode who was ably represented at the occasion  by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello  tasked the management of LWT to tap int technological advancement in the media industry to better serve the public, enhance socio-economic development and empowerment of the people and attain global standard.

Ambode reiterated his belief in the power of electronic media especially television being properly harnessed for day-to-day running of state affairs and asked the management of LWT to air only programmes that will engage the public and enhance economic development.

Ambode added that without the effective information dissemination machineries like LWT, residents of Lagos will be kept in the dark about running of state affairs and might misinterprete lofty ideas no matter how commendable they are.

The Lagos State Government according to the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde is determined to make LWT the station of first choice of Lagos residents with quality programmes.
