EXECUTIVES OF CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY JAILED FOR =N=4.8 MILLION FRAUD

Mr Felix Maduegbuna and Stephen Fakrogha former Chairman and Secretary respectively of Orgba Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Limited, Gboko, Benue State have been found guilty of two count charge bordering on conspiracy and criminal breach of trust brought against them by EFCC.
The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD) awarded the co-operative society a contract for the sum of =N=4,826,850 for the procurement of certain specified equipment. The duo breached the agreement and decided to grant loans of =N=300,000 each to their members contrary to the purpose for which the money was given to the society.
They were found guilty of the charges brought against them by Justice Ademola Adeniyi of Federal Capital Territory High Court Apo Abuja and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment with option of fine of =N=1,250,000 on the first count and two years imprisonment each with option of fine in the sum of =N=1,250,000 for the second charge.
The sentences run concurrently.
