GANI ADAMS SAYS PRESIDENT JONATHAN SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR GIVING CONTRACT TO OPC

Gani Adams, The National Co-ordinator of Odua Peoples Congress(OPC), a Yoruba group has said that the opposition party , All Progressives Congress (APC) should commend President Goodluck Jonathan for giving OPC contract to protect pipelines across the South- West, a contract that would provide 5,000 jobs for members of OPC and 10,000 jobs for other youths across South-West.

Gani Adams made these statements while reacting to allegations by the opposition party, APC that President Goodluck Jonathan bribed Yoruba militia with 9 billion naira to scuttle the up coming elections.

Gani Adams said  most APC members had oil licences and were being hypocritical as most of them are afraid that their licences which will expire in September will not be renewed by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Gani Adams further said, "The allegation is that the Federal Government gave us a contract, Pipeline security. What is the security of pipeline to OPC? We have been running this organisation without getting a dime from any government but most of the security agencies saddled with responsibility of protecting the pipelines have failed; people were dying every day".

"Nigeria was losing more than 3 billion naira everyday to the activities of the vandals and the agitation of that contract started from Dr. Fredrick Fasehun one and half years ago and you know the bureaucracy of Nigerian ministries. It was a long process and it was just granted and it will empower nothing less than 5,000 youths from my side"

"Altogether, that is about 15,000 jobs for Yoruba land. Will you deny Yoruba youths the opportunity of getting 15,000 jobs because of politics?"
