OBAMA MARKS 50 YEARS OF SELMA CIVIL RIGHTS MARCH

Obama will take part in events marking the 50th anniversary of the civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery on 7th March 1965.
Obama will deliver a speech to mark the day regarded as bloody Sunday when security officers beat and  used teargas on demonstrators who were peacefully marching for equality amongst blacks and removal of all barriers against voting rights for blacks.
Obama, his wife and 100 congress members are expected to participate in the events.
Obama and his wife, Michelle will later join marchers to recreate the walk on the Edmund Pettus bridge.
Selma March of 7th March 1965 was historic in that it helped the legislation pushed by President Lydon Johnson to gain momemtum for approval of The Voting Acts Right.
The Voting Acts Right was approved later in the year.
