THIS MAN'S CAR PLATE NUMBER COST 518,000 POUNDS

Classic Car Dealer John Collins bought his car plate number at an auction for 518,000 pounds ($779,000)
You might think we got the story upside down, but the reality is that it is not a car he bought but a plate number. The plate number he bought was "25O", which is one of the most expensive plate numbers bought at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency auction.
Mr. John Collins who owns Talacrest, a classic Ferrari dealer says he would have bid more than 518,000 pounds for the plate number that matches the 250 model but was happy where the bid stopped.
The popularity and value of plate numbers is on the rise though often seen as a tacky accessory of the rich and famous.

  1. Nice article, we find that on many occasions car plate buyers are willing to pay more for the licences plate number than the value of the car.
